Lesaka: Where you are, we are
We've brought our trusted brands together under one name, and are now serving our customers and merchants where they live, work and trade.
1 August 2026 marks a new chapter in our story. For years, South Africans have relied on our trusted brands; Kazang, EasyPay, EasyPay Everywhere, Adumo, GAAP, Connect and Recharger. Each of these brands has served its own community of consumers and merchants for a long time. Today, we bring them all together as Lesaka. Individually, they were strong. Together, as ‘one’ Lesaka, they become something bigger: a challenger brand built for how Southern Africans live, earn and spend.
A promise, not just a name
Everything about Lesaka starts with a simple promise: “Where You Are, We Are”. It's not a slogan; it’s our DNA, a description of how we work and solve pain points for the audience we serve. We don't wait for customers to come to us. Our teams are already there, in the spaza shops, the taxi ranks, the wholesalers and the kitchen tables where South Africa's real economy happens every day.
“We are not a product-centric business. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Everything we've achieved has led to this moment. Now, we build the next chapter together: one platform, one brand, one shared mission.” — Sumay Dippenaar, Lesaka Group Brand Manager.
In practice, that promise translates into five things we help our customers and merchants do: Pay, Receive, Borrow, Insure and Grow. We offer a full ecosystem of products and services designed to make a meaningful difference in people's everyday lives. It's a grant recipient receiving their money safely. A spaza owner accepting a card payment, selling value-added prepaid products and services, or borrowing funds to restock or to turn a side hustle into a thriving business. A consumer paying a bill. A family securing affordable funeral cover. An established retailer or wholesaler requiring opportunity capital to expand or grow. This is what financial inclusion looks like in practice: meeting historically underserviced communities exactly where they are, with the tools to Pay, Receive, Borrow, Insure and Grow.
We’re building a connected ecosystem – an ecosystem that mirrors how people live, earn and spend. We’re disrupting the product bundle, the route to market, and the service experience. Our focus is on creating the market that should be, on working with our customers to change the status quo. On being there with them on every step of their journey,” Xavier Marot, Lesaka Chief Marketing Officer.
Our business is woven into the everyday life of communities. Lesaka is commencing a nationwide campaign to connect with its communities. We have partnered with the Field Band Foundation and are hosting parades alongside local musicians in 41 townships across South Africa. But this moment isn't about a parade; it's an arrival. It's Lesaka showing up, physically and visibly, exactly where our customers already live, work and trade, because where you are, we are. Our business is already deeply woven into the everyday life of our communities - so we chose not just to launch IN our communities, but WITH our communities.
A new look
Alongside the new name comes a new mark: a footprint. It's a simple symbol with a clear meaning: presence, partnership and purpose. It expresses who we are: human, grounded, African, and moving forward. Lesaka may be a tech company, but at its core, it is a human-first company.
“Our new logo is a footprint, because we're on the ground, walking alongside our consumers and merchants, and leaving a positive imprint wherever we go.”
Today, with almost 4,000 dedicated employees across five countries committed to understanding and serving our customers, Lesaka takes its first steps as a single, unified brand. But you won't find us waiting behind a desk to tell you about it. You will find us in the streets, meeting spaza merchants, speaking to grant recipients; at the wholesalers, the tuck shops and the cash ‘n carries, helping everyone fulfil their potential.
“Wherever there is life, there is trade. From data top-ups to down payments, here for the small acts and the big steps, here for traders, retailers, grant recipients, city workers, entrepreneurs, gogos and families alike. Here in the real world, in real time. Because life isn't happening somewhere else. Life is happening here, now, where you are.” — The Lesaka Manifesto
